Email Marketing

More than likely you get multiple emails each week from businesses desiring that you interact with their electronic mail and eventually purchase something. While you may periodically purge your email by going on an "unsubscribe" binge (we all do), email marketing is not going anywhere anytime in the near future.

The fact is that three-quarters of companies surveyed agree that email marketing offers a "excellent" to "good" return on investment (ROI). In addition, by 2020 email use worldwide will top 3 billion people. That's 3,000,000,000!

Mobile is also a very important consideration in email marketing as two-thirds of emails are read on smartphones or tablets. If you're not optimizing emails for mobile devices you are missing out on the majority of your audience! BTW, you can email us, if you have any questions about improving your marketing.

Build Your List

Before you ever send your persuasive marketing emails, you must first have an email list. Marketing Manager Corey Dilley of Unbounce believes in list building, "Unbounce's email list is the biggest asset we have for driving new acquisitions." Start building that list today!

If you've been in business for any length of time, you more than likely have been gathering email addresses. A business would be in the minority today if they are not using email to communicate with a customer on some level. The true objective is to actively build the list so you can email!

There are several creative ways to collect emails including:

  • Website email list sign up
  • Gather business cards
  • Host an event
  • Organize a giveaway
  • Put out a sign up sheet!
  • And a whole lot more ...

Send the Emails

Marketing guru Neil Patel has this to say about the merits of email, "Out of all the channels I tested as a marketer, email continually outperforms most of them." You are fully convinced but, before you hit send make sure you are following these best practices.

What kind of campaign do want to send -- a newsletter, marketing offer, announcement, invitation or all of the above? Don't send all of the above at the same time, though!

After that you will need to build your email campaign the right way:

  • Make sure your email is relevant to every reader
  • Build trust and stay within your brand
  • Make it easy to convert with a call to action (CTA)
  • Finally, measure your results
